Bringing warehousing and logistics to the modern web

Lineage Logistics is a warehousing and logistics company built to deliver sophisticated, customized, and dependable cold chain solutions. They have one of the largest facility networks in the U.S. and needed a better experience for tracking the hundreds of thousands of shipping containers moving between their warehouses.

A 360 degree view of facility activity

Logistics management is a constant balancing act of fulfilling outbound orders, managing available inventory, and tracking inbound shipments -- all while maximizing efficiency. So, when designing the launching pad of the experience, we wanted to give users a 360 degree view of their inventory and incoming/outbound orders. The visual nature of the design uses color and visual hierarchy to clearly highlight critical status information, giving users a sense at whether there is sufficient inventory to meet outbound orders. If needed, they also get a glance at incoming orders with the ability to dig deeper into their volume and availability. The information shown doubles as navigation, allowing users to drill down to get more detail.

Ugh, Reporting...

Prior to the re-design, users relied heavily on reporting functionality to get a clear view of their facility activity. One of our goals was to change that, creating an experience where users could easily search, filter and visualize information directly. But reporting is still an important tool for external communication, so we created a way to easily save and share reports that were consistent with what users would typically see from their dashboard.
